Grainwright — Wood Craft

How it works

Custom Order Process

Every wheel is built to your car and your specification. The process is simple and transparent — you approve the configuration, the quotation, and the finished piece before anything ships.

01

Confirm your vehicle and what you want to build

So we build the correct part for your car, send us a few details. This lets us confirm the right part type, features, and compatibility.

  • Clear photos of the part to be replaced — front view
  • Clear photos of the part to be replaced — back view
  • Vehicle model
  • Year of manufacture
  • VIN number, if available
02

Confirm the design you want

If you already have a design in mind, send us photos of the style. If not, we can send popular options for your model to choose from. Once everything is confirmed, we prepare a final configuration sheet for your approval.

Customization options

  • Wood style
  • Leather type
  • Stitching color
  • Carbon fiber style
  • Shape or grip style
  • Top marker, paddle cutouts, heating function, etc.

Wood species reference

Black walnut
Dense, stable, deep chocolate figure — the default for daily-driven cars.
Mahogany
Classic warm red-brown; the reference wood for vintage luxury wheels.
Cherry
Fine, even grain that deepens in color with light exposure.
Maple
Pale and bright; takes tinted finishes cleanly.
Burl wood
Dramatic swirled figure for book-matched showpiece arcs.

Carbon fiber weave & finish reference

2×2 twill
The classic diagonal carbon look — forgiving over curves, the default for wheels and trim.
Plain weave
Tighter checkerboard grid; cleaner and more technical on flat dash panels.
Forged carbon
Chopped-tow marbled figure with no directional weave — a modern supercar aesthetic.
Gloss clear coat
Deep wet-look finish that maximizes weave depth; best on show surfaces.
Matte clear coat
Low-glare satin finish that keeps reflections off the windscreen and hides fingerprints.
03

Confirm the quotation

Send us your full delivery address. Based on your vehicle information, steering wheel specifications, customization details, and shipping destination, we evaluate the production and shipping cost, then provide a quotation.

04

Payment

Once the configuration and quotation are approved, choose a payment method.

Accepted methods

  • Bank transfer — multi-currency accounts (USD, EUR, GBP, and more)
  • PayPal — note that PayPal platform transaction fees apply
05

Production

Once payment is received and all details are confirmed, we begin production of your custom part — steering wheel, interior trim, or carbon fiber components.

06

Final confirmation and shipping

Before shipment we take detailed photos and videos of the finished wheel from multiple angles, so you can check the overall appearance, the customization details, and the craftsmanship and finish. We ship only after you confirm everything looks correct.
